History
There is no other business that could have held my attention like the automobile business. In retrospect, I cannot recall a clear-cut beginning of my interest in the car business. Perhaps every young man grows up fascinated with cars. I know that I did. Certainly my Dad's ownership of a Buick dealership in 1959 influenced me. Yet I was never expected or pressured to follow in Dad's footsteps. He fostered my interest in his business by setting an example of independence and hard work.

My journey in this industry began by working at the dealership after school and during summer breaks. I went on to learn the entire business by performing every job in every department.

After graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology, and the General Motors Institute, I became determined to combine my practical experience with my degree in business. I longed to be an entrepreneur. Opportunity arrived when I was able to purchase a Honda motorcycle franchise in 1974. Two years later, I opened as a Honda automobile dealership, and I knew that I was on my way. In 1980 I was the youngest dealer ever appointed a Mercedes-Benz franchise. Throughout the early 80's we purchased an existing BMW dealership in Honeoye Falls, New York; which has moved to West Henrietta Road, and acquired Mazda and Acura. During the 90's we added Porsche, Audi, and Land Rover. Since 1977, dedicated staff has worked to make Holtz House of Vehicles one of New York State's most recognizable and respected automotive dealer groups.

I continue to seek new challenges on the horizon. However, one thing is clear: the automobile business has been very fulfilling. My career has allowed me to enjoy wonderful lifelong professional relationships with my fellow Rochester citizens, employees, manufacturers and other industry related professionals.

I have been married to my wife, Seana, for over twenty years. Our business has also allowed us to be involved in many charitable and community activities. As lifelong residents of Rochester, New York, this involvement has been particularly meaningful to both of us.
